African elephant diorama in Akeley Hall of African Mammals

The African elephant diorama is one of the Museum's iconic exhibits.

The Museum is widely regarded as having the finest, most accurate wildlife dioramas in the world. Join us for a look through these “Windows on Nature” as we discover science as art and art as science. Learn about the role that these dioramas play in conservation, the big personalities behind their creation, and why they are as important today as they were fifty or more years ago.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
