Japanese Sake: Behind the Scenes at Hakkaisan Sake Brewery

Japanese sake is getting more popular every year, but it remains an age-old wine with much mystery. Join writer and sake “samurai” Timothy Sullivan, as he reveals behind-the-scenes details about Japan’s famous Hakkaisan Sake Brewery. Learn all about the classification, brewing process, and historical significance of what the Japanese sometimes call the “drink of the gods.” A selection of premium sake from Hakkaisan Sake Brewery will be served.

Tastings Include:
  • Hakkaisan Honjozo
  • Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai
  • Hakkaisan Junmai Ginjo
  • Hakkaisan Daiginjo (This sake is normally not available in the US!)

Come early and visit the exhibition Our Global Kitchen: Food, Nature, Culture. Ticket holders will receive free admission to the exhibition from 5:45–6:15 pm.
