Our Earth's Future Image

In this one-day offering, Dr. Debra Tillinger will lead an in-depth course about the forces that determine sea level. Compare human-induced sea level rise, a consequence of global warming, with the natural variability in sea level height caused by El Niño and other ocean atmosphere phenomena. Participants will come away with new fluency in and understanding of the science of climate change.

The course is led by Debra Tillinger, physics professor at Marymount Manhattan College, whose work includes research in ocean and climate physics, as well as service as a public educator in climate and Earth science across venues throughout New York City including the annual Mermaid Lagoon in Brooklyn.
