SciCafe: Mapping the Evolution and Spread of Languages

Wednesday, December 5

SCICAFE group

Human languages first appeared between 30,000 and 100,000 years ago but the question of how languages spread and evolve is still under much investigation. Join Museum curators Peter Whiteley and Ward Wheeler to learn how advanced computational techniques, typically used in genetic analyses, are being repurposed to help understand anthropology, language shifts, and key patterns in human social evolution.
