After Hours Programs
Sky to Space
August 28, 2012
Since antiquity, astronomical observations have played a critical role in scientific advancement. In this program, research scientist Jackie Faherty and astrophysics educator Christina Pease re-create pivotal astronomical discoveries using the Hayden Planetarium’s projectors.
These monthly programs offer an interactive tour of the universe and a view of the constantly changing night sky. Learn about what is visible in our nighttime sky with the brilliant stars of the Zeiss Mark IX star projector or travel to the edge of the observable universe with the Digital Universe Atlas, a scientifically accurate 3D atlas of the known universe assembled and maintained by Museum scientists.
