Milky Way with Constellation Lines

Pink lines that connect the stars of the constellations radiate from the Sun, which is at the center of the small sphere. The yellow ellipsoid marks the bar of the Milky Way, the center of our Galaxy. Red objects mark the location of pulsars, yellow labels mark the positions of globular star clusters.

You don’t have to go to the zoo to see lions, tigers, and bears! Learn how cultures around the world and through history have been spotting animal shapes in the stars, then head to the Hayden Planetarium to see the stars that inspired the stories. Make your own constellation model and discover the legends of the night sky.
