Science Explorations is a series of online investigations featuring the latest scientific discoveries of the Museum's experts. Science Explorations is a collaboration between the Museum and Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education, and media company, created to promote science literacy among students in grades 3 through 10. Check out the other investigations on animal adaptation, insects, space, and giant squid.

Seminars on Science: Online Courses for Teachers

To learn more about the eight exciting courses available from Seminars on Science, take a look at our new, improved website! Read original essays, watch sample videos, play with course interactives and discover how easy it is to sign up for graduate credit. We are currently registering students for our upcoming TWO Summer semesters. Summer semesters run June 12 - July 23 AND July 3 - August 13.

Designed for K-12 educators, each six-week course immerses the learner in an area of contemporary research. Courses are taught and led by Museum scientists and educators and feature rich web-based discussions. They are easy to use and flexible enough to fit into a teacher's busy schedule. Graduate credit is available from a number of major institutions and may meet your local professional development requirements.
