INSTALLATION AND EVALUATION

Celebrate students' work and assess their understanding of biodiversity. Consider the words of Willard Whitson, of the Museum's Exhibition Department: "Everything should have a reason for being in the exhibit, and for being where it is and how big it is. Everything should.…relate to the big idea." In designing, installing, and hosting an exhibit, students will not only apply what they have learned about biodiversity in the field, they will also think critically about this knowledge and how they are teaching others about what they have learned. This kind of critical thinking provides a truly meaningful final assessment for your students' study of plants and/or arthropods and biodiversity. Resources include extensive opportunities for the design of evaluations, as well as for self-assessment.
