Henna Floral Designs
Photo ©
Pravina Shukla

This photograph features a Hindu bride's hands covered with Henna floral designs. The Henna designs are painted on to mark her as special and beautiful, and to mark the moment when she moves from one stage of life to another. The bride's Henna designs complement her gold jewelry, silk brocade clothes and flower garlands in the hair. Henna painting is done by women on women, to mark special events.
