The Arthur Ross Terrace will be closed this morning, Tuesday, October 21, for a private cultural observance. You many observe smoke and/or fire coming from the Terrace at that time. The FDNY has been notified in advance, and all safety precautions are in place. The Terrace will reopen at 1 pm.

Theodore Outdoor

When he was President, Theodore Roosevelt often encouraged friends and family to get out into nature. At the American Museum of Natural History, we share Roosevelt's passion for the natural world, and we want you to go outdoors and start exploring.

You can start today by participating in the Theodore Outdoor contest. (Visit tr.amnh.org/troutdoor for full contest rules.) Start by downloading and printing your Theodore Outdoor from tr.amnh.org, then plan your own expedition to a park or anywhere else you experience nature and take a photo of your Theodore Outdoor.  Tweet or post to Instagram with the hashtag #TRoutdoor. Find out more, then get out there and keep exploring...and win great prizes!
