Companion Book

The exhibition is accompanied by The Einstein Scrapbook, a richly illustrated publication which provides a glimpse into the remarkable life and work of the most celebrated scientist of the 20th century, published by Johns Hopkins University Press. The 176-page publication, written by Ze'ev Rosenkranz, the Bern Dibner Curator in the Albert Einstein Archives at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Jewish National and University Library, contains 212 duotone photographs. Featuring revealing documents and photographs drawn from The Hebrew University's Albert Einstein Archives-many published here for the first time-the book presents a kaleidoscope view through which the great scientist and humanist can be seen. Exploring Einstein's family history and education, his complex marital relations, his career as a scientist and educator, and finally, his role in the international peace movement seeking social and economic justice, The Einstein Scrapbook is available in the Museum Shop at the American Museum of Natural History in a hardcover edition for $22.50.
