 Murphy before he left for the Gobi: 6/20/98 Murphy in the Gobi: 7/16/98Murphy Stein is the resident techie/computer geek, responsible for maintaining the satellite uplink and the various electronic toys scattered among the team members. He is by far the youngest member of the team -- just 19. He is a freshman at Dartmouth College. Murphy has e-mailed the web team excerpts from his journal while in the Gobi.
