Making the Mutation Station

Museum exhibitions often spring from interesting questions or concepts and are then built upon solid foundations of scientific research and discovery. But physically mounting a major exhibition like The Genomic Revolution requires the teamwork of many skilled people from a wide range of scientific, manufacturing and technical fields.

Bringing theoretical scientific ideas to life is the stock-in-trade of the American Museum of Natural History’s Exhibitions Department. The Exhibitions Department, in cooperation with other Museum staff members and scientific divisions, is responsible for both the design and construction of the intriguing environment that is The Genomic Revolution. From interactive displays to synthetic chromosomes, video animations to holograms, these are the people who truly make The Genomic Revolution come alive.

Take a quick peek behind the scenes at some Exhibitions staff members hard at work preparing exhibits for The Genomic Revolution.
