The Indians of the Northwest Coast occupied North America's shores from Washington State to southern Alaska. This hall is devoted to their way of life. Their extraordinary woodworking skills and artistry can be appreciated in the protective totem poles that decorate the hall. A sixty-three-foot-long seaworthy Haida canoe built in 1878, remains one of the Museum's most popular exhibits.
