| Enter the Hall of Biodiversity, and the Spectrum
of Life comes alive before your eyes, revealing the variety
of Earth's living things. The life-size Dzanga-Sangha Rainforest, complete
with sounds and smells, displays a vast array of species inhabiting
and interacting within one ecosystem. And the Resource Center corridor,
featuring the "Transformation of the Biosphere"
and "Solutions" walls, offers an in-depth
exploration of the many values of and threats to biodiversity, and
the varied ways individuals and organizations are working to preserve
the world's species and ecosystems. This hall expands the Museum's
efforts to alert the public to the critical roles biodiversity plays
in sustaining life as we know it, and to the ecological crisis we
now face. |
