Vishnu's followers form one of the three main sects of Hinduism; the others are those who worship either the God Shiva or Shakti, the Divine Feminine. Vishnu's doctrine emphasizes the reciprocity of love, whether between husband and wife or deity and devotee. This love is exemplified through Vishnu's relationship with his consort Lakshmi, the Goddess of Abundance and Prosperity. Vishnu is seen as a savior who has been reborn on Earth many times to conquer and balance evil.
