The Dzanga-Sangha Rain Forest

The Dzanga-Sangha rain forest is home to some of the highest concentrations of forest elephants and lowland gorillas in Africa along with many other mammals, birds, plant species, and thousands of insects and microorganisms.

To protect the Central African Republic's Dzanga-Sangha from threats from agriculture and timber and mining operations, officials created the Dzanga-Ndoki National Park and the Dzanga-Sangha Dense Forest Reserve.
