Inca Artifacts

Part of Hall of South American Peoples.

On a display table, two silver cylindric vessels decorated with face carvings and two bowls with intricately carved handles and painted designs.

The Museum's wide variety of Inca artifacts represents the breadth of their empire. Inca maintained ethnic diversity throughout their vast territory, ruling over different regions and maintaining a smooth flow of people and goods with the help of a sophisticated road system.

Inca were talented masons, as seen in their stone models and architecture. In some cases, the masonry is so finely jointed that a knife blade does not fit between the stone joints.
