Barosaurus

Barosaurus

Re-enacting a hypothetical scene between predator and prey, the Museum's popular Barosaurus display shows the enormous plant-eating dinosaur rearing up to protect its young against an attacking Allosaurus.

One of two Barosaurus specimens on view anywhere in the world, this dinosaur mount is the only one to feature a freestanding animal rearing up. The skeletons are made of casts made from real bones, which are too heavy to support in this fashion.
