Many kinds of objects are spirit-infused or act as spirit repositories:
Kongo packets, (paket kongo), used on Petwo altars and in healing ceremonies, are filled with leaves, herbs, earth and other ingredients.
Jars called govi, containing the spirit essence of deceased members of the Vodou family, are kept upon an altar.
Pots known as po tet ('head pots') are repositories for the nail and hair clippings of the initiates in a Vodou society. They too are kept on an altar and draped with the necklaces of the devotees.
