On September 30, 2013, the first group of graduates from the Museum's Richard Gilder Graduate School will receive their Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the inaugural commencementfor the graduate school—a banner day in the history of the Museum. During the next few weeks, we'll profile the seven graduates here on the Museum's blog.

Aki Watanabe, a student in the comparative biology doctoral program at the American Museum of Natural History's Richard Gilder Graduate School, was recently chosen as a beta-tester for Google Glass. Here, Aki gives his Glass to paleontology collections manager Carl Mehling for a behind-the-scenes look at the Big Bone Room, which houses some of the largest items in the Museum's paleontology collection.
