Hosted by Tom Brokaw, a new television documentary, Treasures of New York: American Museum of Natural History, gives viewers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the American Museum of Natural History. The one-hour program first airs on Thursday, May 2, at 8 pm on WLIW21 and Sunday, May 5, at 7 pm on WNET.
The American Museum of Natural History is partnering with Coursera, a leading Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) provider, to offer science courses for teachers worldwide. The partnership, initiated in conjunction with several other museums and schools of education, marks Coursera’s first foray into professional development for educators at the K–12 level.
This year, in a Doodle 4 Google contest, K–12 students in the U.S. were invited to redesign the Google logo on the theme of "My Best Day Ever..." Later this month, the entries from 50 state winners will be displayed at the American Museum of Natural History, in the Rose Center Gallery, from May 22 through July 14.
