The Museum safely evacuated visitors and staff today as a result of a smoke condition in the Hall of Northwest Coast Indians. The Museum will be open on Saturday, December 13, during regular hours, 10 am – 5:45 pm.
Planned to open in 2019–2020 in conjunction with the Museum's 150th anniversary, the center is named to recognize Trustee Richard Gilder and his lifetime of contributions to the Museum.
It’s the last weekend to see more than 20 spectacular images in the Picturing Science exhibition.
December 5 Update: Watch the Orion spacecraft today, Friday December 5 at 10:30 am in the Cullman Hall of the Universe. NASA’s new spacecraft Orion, which is designed to eventually take humans to an asteroid and Mars, will undergo its inaugural test flight on December 4.
