Brain: The Inside Story, the Museum’s popular exhibition which gives visitors a new perspective and insight into the human brain using imaginative art, vivid brain scan imaging, and thrilling interactive exhibits, was recognized for outstanding achievement in museum exhibition design. Event Design Magazine recently announced the winners of their Event Design Awards and the Museum’s Exhibitions team won Silver honors for Best Museum Environment for their evocative work on Brain: The Inside Story. Every year the Event Design Awards—the industry’s highest honor—receives hundreds of entries across 13 categories to determine the best of the best in the world of events, exhibits, and environments.

“We are understandably proud that our efforts in creating this cutting-edge exhibition have received such extraordinary recognition from the outstanding designers and artists on the panel,” said David Harvey, Vice President for Exhibition.

Visitors only have until August 14 to witness the amazing design excellence of Brain firsthand before it closes in New York and begins traveling to venues around the world.

The Department of Exhibitions also garnered a number of Gold and Silver Communicator Awards last month:

Gold Award of Excellence:

• Race to the End of the Earth (for Intro Theater and Inside View videos)

Silver Award of Distinction:

• Race to the End of the Earth (for Life of the Ice video and Entry soundscape)
• Brain: The Inside Story (for Welcome to the Brain presentation and Brain Lounge)
