The Mead Film Festival Opens Tonight!
by AMNH on
The Margaret Mead Film Festival has been presenting short- and feature-length documentary films from around the world for 40 years, and tonight you can help us celebrate the start of another amazing year at the Mead.
It all starts tonight with the United States premiere of A Revolution in Four Seasons, which kicks off this year’s festival. Tickets are still available for the film, which follows two Tunisian women promoting very different futures for their nation following the events of the Arab Spring, as well as for a reception with filmmakers to follow.
A Revolution in Four Seasons is just one of the fantastic films showing all weekend long, though. On Friday evening, join us for Ladies First, an in-depth look at the challenges faced by some of the first women to run for public office in Saudi Arabia produced and co-presented by The New York Times.
Saturday at the Mead lets viewers go on tour with Benin’s Gangbé Brass Band in the musical road movie Gangbé!
And on Sunday, don’t miss the New York premiere of Farewell Ferris Wheel, an exploration of the American carnival industry and it’s surprising connection to today’s immigration debate.
