Weekend Plans for 11/23 and 11/24: The Power of Poison, Dark Universe, and More
by AMNH on
The weekend weather may be blustery, but inside the Museum it's warm and dry—and there are multiple exhibitions open, plus Dark Universe, our new Space Show.
Just Opened: The Power of Poison
In the new exhibition The Power of Poison, walk through the misty Chocó forest, packed with poisonous species at every turn. Encounter Macbeth's three witches and other characters, and learn more about poisons in literature and myth. Step into a 19th-century toxicology lab, where a live presenter guides visitors to attempt to solve a mysterious poisoning. Plus much more (including live animals).
Purchase tickets to The Power of Poison.
In the Dome: Dark Universe
Dark Universe celebrates the pivotal discoveries that have led us to greater knowledge of the structure and history of the universe and our place in it—and to new frontiers for exploration.

Coming Monday, November 25: The Origami Holiday Tree
An annual tradition, the delightfully decorated Origami Holiday Tree has marked the start of the holiday season at the Museum for 40 years. The theme of this year’s tree is Wicked, Wild, and Wonderful, inspired by the Museum's new exhibition The Power of Poison.
Learn more about the tree, which will be on the Museum's first floor, in the Grand Gallery near the 77th Street entrance. Viewing the tree is free for Members or with Museum admission.
