News posts

Still waiting for spring? There's plenty happening at the Museum this weekend, where you can come enjoy the summery climate of The Butterfly Conservatory. See as many as 500 butterflies from around the world fluttering in a vivarium that feels like a tropical paradise no matter what the weather is like outside.

If you need a quick break from the construction noise, waits for restaurant tables, and other inconveniences of life in the big city, take a trip through some of America's most spectacular wild places with National Parks Adventure. This exciting new documentary lets you experience towering mountains, lush forests, rushing rapids and more, just a few subway stops from your door. You can catch it this weekend in 2D and 3D on the LeFrak Theater's giant screen.

And this Sunday at the Museum, help us ring in the Year of the Monkey at Spotlight Asia. The Museum’s Lunar New Year festival celebrates arts and cultures from around Asia through contemporary choreography, traditional storytelling, and hands-on activities taught by local artisans. You can learn more about the event—and download a full program for the show—at the link above. Below, see the award-winning Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company in company in action prior to their performances this Sunday.
