Exploring In-Depth

In Impact! Tracking Near-Earth Asteroids, astronomers track asteroids that appear to be headed our way.

This feature can be used to illustrate the process of science. It shows how scientists and
amateur astronomers collect observational data about near Earth asteroids that can
be used to formulate hypotheses about when and if the asteroids might collide
with Earth. (Read more about The Scientific Process.)

This Classroom Discussion Activity can be used to connect your students to the process of science, highlight overarching scientific themes, and enhance comprehension of the story.
