Classroom Activity

In Our Expanding Universe, astrophysicists investigate the mystery of why the Universe seems to be expanding at an increasing rate. Is it an enigmatic force called dark energy? A new device called the Dark Energy Camera allows them to probe the farthest reaches of space for answers.

This feature can be used to illustrate the process of science. It shows astrophysicists collecting data that they hope will help answer questions they have about the expansion of the Universe. (Read more about The Scientific Process.)

This Classroom Discussion Activity can be used to connect your students to the process of science, highlight overarching scientific themes, and enhance comprehension of the story.
