Interactive: The Horse Through History
More About This Resource...
Our innovative Science Bulletins are an online and exhibition program that offers the public a window into the excitement of scientific discovery. This interactive was published in May 2008 as part of The Last Wild Horse: The Return of Takhi to Mongolia Bio Feature. Students can click through a slide show of the following portraits, each with notes about the relationship between horses and humans.
- Paleolithic Cave Painting found in France
- Scythian Bas-Relief
- Genghis Khan
- Takhi at the Gobi B Steppe Reserve
Supplement a study of biology with a classroom activity drawn from this Science Bulletin interactive.
- Working individually or in small groups, have students explore The Horse Through History interactive.
- Have them further research at least one of the images in the slideshow and present their detailed look at that human-horse relationship to the class.
