On May 12, 2011, NOAA and AMNH Science Bulletins hosted a one-hour online educational seminar about this data visualization. The webinar featured Dr. Ned Gardiner, data visualization specialist with the NOAA Climate Program Office and Dr. C. Mark Eakin, coordinator of the NOAA Coral Reef Watch program. Drs. Gardiner and Eakin briefed participants and answered questions about coral reef pressures in a changing climate and how satellite data are used to identify them. They also offered strategies for interpreting the visualization to audiences.
