In August, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope completed 100,000 orbits around Earth: 18 years of observations. To mark this milestone, Hubble focused on a star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a nearby irregular galaxy. This October's servicing mission to Hubble will extend the life of this pivotal astronomical instrument until at least 2013.
