Painting the Natural World

Explore the Museum’s celebrated dioramas during an after-hours painting workshop in the Akeley Hall of African Mammals. Artists Eric Hamilton and Greg Follender provide hands-on instruction in acrylic paint to help participants better understand color and composition and improve technical skills like brush control. Get a glimpse into the history and craftsmanship behind world-class dioramas and take home a painting of your own.
Basic painting skill level is recommended for this course.
