Sackler Brain Course The Senses: Our Windows to the World

November 20, 2017 - December 18, 2017

Internal view of brain

Whether it’s a sunrise, a birdsong, or a light rain, we experience the world through our senses. These intricate biological systems help our brains translate external stimuli into meaningful perceptions. In this five-part course we learn the science behind how our senses work. This course is held partly inside the new exhibition Our Senses: An Immersive Experience where expert neuroscientists will share their latest research in the field of sensory biology.

The Museum gratefully acknowledges The Mortimer D. Sackler Foundation, Inc. for its support to establish the Sackler Brain Bench, part of the Museum’s Sackler Educational Laboratory for Comparative Genomics and Human Origins, in the Spitzer Hall of Human Origins, offering ongoing programs and resources for adults, teachers, and students to illuminate the extraordinary workings of the human brain.
