Celebrate the reopening of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial and The Bernard Family Hall of North American Mammals with a full day of special family-friendly activities and performances.

Spaces are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

• Tree Walks with Leslie Day and Trudy Smoke | 11 AM and Noon
Explore foliage surrounding the Museum with Leslie Day and Trudy Smoke, author and illustrator of the book Field Guide to the Street Trees of New York City.

 

• Bird Walks with Joe DiCostanzo and Dale Dyer | Every Hour, on the Hour, Noon–3 PM
Observe the fall migration of birds in Central Park with naturalists Joseph DiCostanzo and Dale Dyer. Learn how to use field marks, habitat, behavior, and song as aids in identification.

 

• Archival Tour with Elizabeth Hanson | 11 AM and 1 PM
Discover artifacts connected to Theodore Roosevelt with Elizabeth Hanson, lead writer for the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall.

 

• Diorama Tour with Tom Doncourt | NOON and 2 PM
Discover dioramas connected to Theodore Roosevelt with Tom Doncourt, senior principal preparator for the Exhibition Department.
• Conservation Tour with Chris Filardi | 3 PM

 

Join Chris Filardi, director of the pacific program in the Center for Biodiversity & Conservation, on a tour that teaches you about the conservation efforts taking place right here in the Museum and the halls that best showcase this research.
