Join Tom Baione, Boeschenstein Director of the Museum's Library to hear how he conceived of and edited the first book about the Library's Rare Book Collection. Natural Histories, Extraordinary Selections from the American Museum of Natural History's Rare Book Collection is in its fourth printing and has already inspired a Museum exhibit Natural Histories: 400 Years of Scientific Illustration from the Museum’s Library. Tom will share images from these lavishly illustrated volumes and tell some of the stories behind their creation. Tom will have several of these important scientific works on hand to allow attendees a close up look at the works featured in the book and the exhibit.
