Whales Tweetup with Scientific American

On Wednesday, May 1, come face to face with the mightiest, most massive mammals on Earth.

You’re invited to explore the immersive exhibition Whales: Giants of the Deep, meet Museum scientists and Scientific American editors, and enjoy drinks and snacks in our historic Hall of Northwest Coast Indians.

You’ll also have the opportunity to:  

  • View whale specimens from the Museum’s Mammalogy Collection
  • See cultural artifacts from the Maori and Pacific Northwest Coast peoples
  • Listen to whale vocalizations through Scientific American’s Whale Song Project
  • And more!

The Whales Tweetup is presented in partnership with Scientific American and is open to those who follow both the Museum (@AMNH) and Scientific American (@SciAm) on Twitter.

Where and When

The Whales Tweetup will be held at the American Museum of Natural History on Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 pm. It is a free event.

  2. Please use hashtag #whalestweetup when tweeting about the event.
  3. You must be 21 or older to attend.
  4. Each individual wishing to attend must apply separately.
