On Election Day Dr. Frank Summers from the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, MD, gave a presentation on the Hubble Space Telescope. His presentation included majestic images from Hubble, graphics that explain some of the science of space telescopes, as well as some information on the future of space telescope science.
Dr. Summers has graciously allowed us to post his slides for use in your classrooms.

The Museum is seeking NYC middle school science teachers to participate in an intensive 5.5 day professional learning experience about the NGSS and the Draft NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards.

This professional day is designed for teachers who want to strengthen their ability to use Museum resources to teach science and social studies. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from a range of breakout sessions that will utilize the Museum’s digital, print, and exhibition resources to connect with the curriculum in ways that are engaging for students.
February 21, 2017 - February 22, 2017
This two-day workshop will introduce teachers to our upcoming temporary exhibition, ¡Cuba!. Participants will work with Museum staff and scientists to learn about biodiversity and conservation and how they can use NGSS-alligned resources and teaching strategies to prepare students for a Museum learning experience. Grade 6-12 Teachers.
