Mid-Winter Teacher Institute: The Secret World Inside You
February 16, 2016 - February 17, 2016
This two day workshop will introduce teachers to our newest exhibition, The Secret World Inside You. Participants will work with Museum educators and scientists to strengthen their understanding of how microbes interact and affect our bodies. Activities will provide a variety of NGSS-alligned resources and teaching strategies to prepare students for a Museum learning experience. Grades 6-12.

The Museum is seeking NYC middle school science teachers to participate in an intensive 5.5 day professional learning experience about the NGSS and the Draft NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards.

This professional day is designed for teachers who want to strengthen their ability to use Museum resources to teach science and social studies. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from a range of breakout sessions that will utilize the Museum’s digital, print, and exhibition resources to connect with the curriculum in ways that are engaging for students.
February 21, 2017 - February 22, 2017
This two-day workshop will introduce teachers to our upcoming temporary exhibition, ¡Cuba!. Participants will work with Museum staff and scientists to learn about biodiversity and conservation and how they can use NGSS-alligned resources and teaching strategies to prepare students for a Museum learning experience. Grade 6-12 Teachers.
