Description

Focusing on the role of museums in supporting schools and teachers as they address the demands of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), preparing educators for these new approaches to science instruction and classroom assessment and introducing them to the types of curriculum resources needed to implement the NGSS successfully. Using the American Museum of Natural History as a model, Dr. Short shares Museum professional development programs and resources to show how informal institutions can play an integral role in transitioning schools and teachers with the challenges in transitioning the NGSS into the classroom.
