To Infinity and Beyond: Museum-School Partnerships Beyond the Field Trip
This masters thesis explores four partnerships between schools and informal institutions around the country, including the Urban Advantage Middle School Science Initiative launched by the American Museum of Natural History in collaboration with seven other informal institutions located in NYC. The origins, structures, and impact of each program are discussed and existing evaluations of each program are examined to demonstrate how these programs not only help students meet standards, but also how these programs benefit the teachers, communities, and institutions.
