Twinkling Stars - Gods and Heroes (Grades 1 and 2)

Before mobile devices, before television, before movies, the night sky was an endless source of entertainment for cultures around the world. In this workshop you will explore the stars in the Hayden Planetarium, learn the exciting stories behind the constellations, and experience the wonder of the night sky.

Please Note: These caregiver-child workshops are structured to provide a unique opportunity for caregiver-child teams to experience science at the Museum and learn together. Each child must be accompanied by one adult. Only a registered child and his/her caregiver may attend with no additional guests.

Navigate our solar system, galaxy, and beyond with Uniview, the Museum’s scientifically accurate three-dimensional map of the universe, and use advanced gaming laptops and the Rose Center’s Hayden Planetarium to explore this software and the science behind it.

The Eco Rangers Institute will give students the opportunity to learn the tools and techniques conservation scientists use to gather information about endangered habitats, and explore the Museum’s biodiversity resources in the exhibit halls, genetics labs, and beyond.
