Augustin Volcano, Alaska

Coombs/USGS

From the city streets, our planet may appear pretty easy-going.  But what happens when the pressure builds?  Join us as we explore the world of volcanoes!  We will learn why they exist, where they form, and a volcano study is never complete without modeling how they erupt.  Not only will we explore their inner workings, but we will also have the opportunity to examine the role volcanoes play in past and present societies around the world.
