Amie Thompson

Amie Thompson has been a science teacher for more than 20 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Northern Illinois University in 2000. Her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and her Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Aurora University were conferred in 2007 and 2021 respectively. Over the course of her career, she has taught in a school district that serves children who are economically disadvantaged and her students are comprised of second language learners. Dr. Thompson began working with Seminars on Science in 2004 and has instructed or managed many courses since that time. She has done research in the Arctic Circle and in Mexico in the course of her career.

Amie enjoys spending time with her husband, four grown children, and four grandchildren. In addition she enjoys hiking, biking, and travel.
