Daniel O'Shoney

Daniel is excited to be your course instructor! He is an engaging and enthusiastic adult educator and pedagogy designer with ten years of educational experience in a wide variety of settings. Daniel is a former middle school science and high school chemistry teacher in the NYC DOE. He earned his Master of Arts in Teaching at the Relay Graduate School of Education while working as a New York City Teaching Fellow.  Most recently he worked as a Coordinator of Professional Development at the Wildlife Conservation Society, training New York City teachers in secondary science content and pedagogy at the Bronx Zoo and New York Aquarium. Coming from the world of STEM education in museums and zoos, Daniel believes in using experiential, self-reflective learning strategies to ensure that every learner feels included and valued. When he's not teaching, Daniel enjoys cooking, baking, and caring for his house plants at his apartment in Brooklyn.
