Jason (Jay) Maron is an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History. His research focuses on computational modeling of astrophysical phenomena that are too complex for pen-and-paper theory. A specific application is star and planet formation, whereby a giant galactic gas cloud gravitationally collapses into a star and then planets form in the accretion disk around the star.

Through the course of his academic career he has studied at the University of Wisconsin, Caltech, Imperial College London, the University of Rochester, and the University of Iowa.”
