Valerie began her career as a pediatric physical therapist working in outpatient healthcare and school settings.  An interest in ecology prompted her to return to school to study science education.

Valerie spent over ten years teaching high school biology and environmental science.  In her classes, she emphasized the importance of conservation and environmental sustainability.  Some of her most meaningful experiences as an educator have involved teaching students about ecology while visiting and exploring local natural areas.

Valerie now works for a nonprofit solar advocacy organization, helping to make renewable energy more affordable and more accessible.  Part of her work involves teaching others about solar photovoltaic technology.  Valerie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, a Certificate of Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University, and a Master’s in Science Education from Ursuline College.
