The American Association for the Advancement of Science is a nonprofit professional society dedicated to the advancement of scientific and technological excellence across all disciplines and to the public's understanding of science and technology. Their Directorate for Education and Human Resources Programs (EHR) supports systemic educational reform through the development of models, materials, mechanisms, processes, and networks. The National Center for Science Education engages in a number of activities advancing two primary goals: improving and supporting education in evolution and the nature of science, and increasing public understanding of these subjects. The Center publishes numerous pamphlets and papers about teaching evolution and biology, links K-12 teachers with science support, recommends and sells books on evolution and biology, and has a Web site that links to a number of online eductional resources.

The NSTA is committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning. The Association publishes five journals, a newspaper, books, a children's magazine, and many other publications. NSTA conducts national and regional conventions and provides many programs and services for science educators, including professional development workshops and educational tours. NAAEE is a network of professionals and students working in the field of environmental education throughout North America abroad. The Association combines and integrates the work and goals of environmental interest groups and organizations dedicated to improving education as it works to promote education about environmental issues. Some of the programs and activities the NAAEE maintains are an annual conference at varying North American sites, an extensive publications program, the Environmental Education Training Institute, the VINE (Volunteer-led Investigations of Neighborhood Ecology) Network, the Environmental Issues Forums (EIF) program, the NAAEE Policy Institute, the Environmental Education and Training Partnership (EETAP), and NAAEE's National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education.
