The School of Professional Studies (SPS), a new institution within CUNY, offers courses and academic programs that meet the needs of adults looking for new skills to advance in their careers and for employers looking to keep their edge in today's competitive marketplace.
The City University of New York's School of Professional Studies is offering 3 semester-hour graduate credits for successful completion of the following Seminars on Science online science courses from the American Museum of Natural History:

Cost Information
Equal to the cost of a 3-credit course at CUNY SPS.

(Use these instructions if you are currently enrolled as a student in any CUNY school.)
- Do NOT register for the course through the Seminars on Science website.
- Obtain an ePermit to take a Seminars on Science class for credit through the School of Professional Studies. Faculty advisors at your home college must approve your request.
- To access ePermit, go to the CUNY Portal Login page. Once on the University's Login page, you will have to register for a CUNY Portal ID and Password, if you haven't already done so, by clicking on "Register" and following the directions. Once registered and logged in, you will be directed to your own "My Page" that has a link to the ePermit system prominently displayed. You can track the process online, and will be informed electronically when your request is approved or denied.
- If you have any questions about the ePermit system, please contact your home college registrar. If your home college registrar is unable to resolve the problem, contact SPS at 212-817-7256

- Register for Seminars on Science courses via the American Museum of Natural History Website.
- In order to earn graduate credit from SPS, download the CUNY School of Professional Studies registration form for non-CUNY students here. If you are not already enrolled at CUNY, you will also need to pay a one-time $70 application fee. Return the form with a check payable to the CUNY School of Professional Studies for $365 per course (plus the $70 fee if applicable) to:

The refund policy is described below.
- Ask the institution that awarded you your BA/BS to send a transcript of prior baccalaureate study directly to the CUNY SPS address listed above. They may charge an additional fee for this service. The SPS registrar must receive your transcript before the final class session.
- In compliance with New York State Public Health Law 2165, if you are enrolled for more than one course as a non-matriculating student through CUNY, you must submit proof of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella, and must file a meningococcal meningitis vaccination form with SPS. Download the Meningitis Response Form.

Graduate Credit Requirements
You will receive specific course requirements, SPS Academic Policies, and additional information after registration. After successfully completing the course, you will receive an SPS transcript.
Refund policy
If you are a degree-seeking student at one of our partner
institutions, refunds will be given based upon your institution's written
policy.
For all other students, refunds are given on the following schedule:
If course is dropped between registration and two weeks prior to course
start, refund = 100%
If course is dropped between two weeks prior to course start and the first
day of class, refund = 75%
If course is dropped during the first week of class, refund = 50%
If the course is dropped after the second week of class, there will be no
refunds.
