The Plymouth State University education features a complementary relationship between liberal arts and professional studies, between academic and personal development, between service and individual growth, and between the University campus and the larger community.

Plymouth State University offers the American Museum of Natural History's Seminars on Science courses for graduate credit or continuing education units (CEUs). After completing the six-week, online course, students register for PSU credit and fulfill a few additional requirements . They must have a bachelor's degree to be eligible.

*Registration for graduate or CEU credit must occur within 30-60 days of completion of your AMNH course.

Graduate credit instructions

AMNH fee: $445
4 graduate credits ($145 each): $580

  1. Register and pay for a Seminars on Science course at the AMNH website.

  2. Successful completion of a Seminars on Science course is based upon your AMNH instructor’s evaluation of your work. Only work that meets or exceeds expectations outlined in the course’s evaluation rubric will be considered for graduate credit.

  3. Visit the Plymouth State partnership page, print the registration form, and return it to Plymouth with your full tuition payment along with:
    • A copy of your Seminars on Science course evaluation (sent to you by your AMNH course instructor);
    • A copy of your Seminars on Science final project; and
    • A 2-3 page narrative about your online course experience that describes the instruction you received and its effect on your teaching and learning. Include a section on how you plan to apply your final course project, or write an additional 2-page narrative on this topic.

  4. Once you have sent in your paperwork, PSU will assign you a faculty member who will evaluate the work you completed during your AMNH Seminars on Science experience.

  5. Mail graduate paperwork to:

CEU instructions

Cost Information
AMNH fee: $445
Up to 4 CEU credits ($50 each, minimum one credit per course): $50 - $200
Total: $495 + up
  1. Register and pay for a Seminars on Science course at the AMNH website.

  2. Visit the Plymouth State partnership page, print the registration form, and return it to Plymouth with payment for CEUs. Send completed registration form to:

  3. Successfully complete the Seminars on Science course work. (The majority of your assessment levels must be average, satisfactory, or exemplary.)

  4. Email the following to Gail Carr at Plymouth State University.

    1. A copy of your SOS Course Evaluation (supplied by your AMNH course instructor)
    2. A copy of your SOS Final Project


Refund policy

If you are a degree-seeking student at one of our partner institutions, refunds will be given based upon your institution's written policy.

For all other students, refunds are given on the following schedule:

If course is dropped between registration and two weeks prior to course start, refund = 100%
If course is dropped between two weeks prior to course start and the first day of class, refund = 75%
If course is dropped during the first week of class, refund = 50%
If the course is dropped after the second week of class, there will be no refunds.
